In Why Women Kill season 1 episode 1, titled "Murder Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry", we are introduced to three different women in three different decades, all living in the same Pasadena mansion. The episode opens in 1963 with Beth Ann Stanton (Ginnifer Goodwin), a housewife who strives to have the perfect life with her husband Rob (Sam Jaeger). However, her perfect life starts to crumble when she discovers that her husband is having an affair with a waitress named April (Sadie Calvano).

Next, we are introduced to Simone Grove (Lucy Liu), a wealthy socialite in 1984 who has an open marriage with her husband Karl (Jack Davenport). Simone is bored of her life and wants to find something to fill the void. She decides to hire a pool boy named Tommy (Leo Howard) and starts to develop feelings for him.

Finally, we meet Taylor Harding (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), a successful lawyer in 2019 who has been in a three-year relationship with her girlfriend Eli (Chelsea Handler). The couple is having problems, and Taylor starts to develop feelings for her law partner, Jade (Alexandra Daddario).

The episode jumps back and forth between these three women's stories, showing how they all deal with the issues in their lives in their own unique way. We see Beth Ann trying to save her marriage by pretending to be the perfect housewife, while also plotting her revenge against her cheating husband. Simone is exploring a different side of her sexuality and trying to navigate the complexities of an open marriage. Taylor is torn between her loyalty to her girlfriend and her growing attraction to her law partner.

Throughout the episode, we see themes of love, jealousy, betrayal, and murder. The title of the episode, "Murder Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry", hints that at least one of these women may resort to murder to solve their problems. However, the episode leaves us on a cliffhanger, not revealing who (if anyone) will actually commit a murder.

Overall, Why Women Kill season 1 episode 1 is a promising start to a series that explores the different ways women deal with the challenges and complexities of their lives. The show is stylishly shot and the performances from the talented cast are excellent. The cliffhanger at the end of the episode leaves us eager to see what will happen next, and we can't wait to see how each woman's story unfolds over the course of the season.
