In Wilderness Vet season 2 episode 17 titled "Oh Deer!," we follow Dr. Oakley as she responds to emergencies in the Alaskan wilderness. The episode starts with a call from a distressed landowner whose horse has been injured by a deer. Dr. Oakley rushes to the scene to assess the situation. She realizes that the horse has suffered a severe leg wound and needs immediate attention.

Dr. Oakley treats the horse's injury and quickly realizes that the animal is in shock. She must act fast to stabilize the horse and transport it to her clinic for further treatment. Dr. Oakley and her team work tirelessly to provide the horse with the necessary medical care and attention, and they are ultimately successful in saving the animal's life.

The episode then takes a turn as Dr. Oakley receives a call from a wildlife conservation officer regarding a deer that has become entangled in a barbed wire fence. Dr. Oakley and the officer locate the deer and work together to free it from the fence. However, during the rescue, Dr. Oakley discovers a deep cut on the deer's leg that requires immediate attention.

Dr. Oakley sedates the deer and works to clean the wound and provide it with antibiotics. She also fits the deer with a special cast to keep the wound covered and protected as it heals. Finally, Dr. Oakley receives a call from a local dog owner whose pet has gotten into a tussle with a porcupine. The dog has multiple quills stuck in its head and is in obvious discomfort. Throughout the episode, Dr. Oakley showcases her expertise as a wildlife veterinarian, empathetic bedside manner, and resilience in the face of harrowing emergency situations.
