Ep 8. Saviour Day

As the end of the world inches closer, the characters of You, Me and the Apocalypse are starting to come to terms with their fate. In episode 8, entitled "Saviour Day," it's the day before the apocalypse and the characters are dealing with their own personal issues before the end of the world.

Rhonda and Leanne are on their way to America to try and stop the comet, but they get sidetracked when Rhonda receives a call from her son, who has been in prison for several years. She decides to take a detour and visit him before the world ends. Meanwhile, Scotty is still trying to find a way to reunite with his husband, who is in a high-security prison. He enlists the help of a hacker to try and break into the prison's system to find his husband's location.

Simone and Father Jude are also dealing with their own issues. Simone is torn between her love for the man she's been sleeping with and her loyalty to her husband, who she thought was dead until recently. Father Jude is still battling with his own faith, and he turns to Sister Celine for advice.

As the characters try to tie up loose ends before the end of the world, we also see flashbacks to their pasts that help explain why they are the way they are. We get to see Rhonda before she was arrested, Scotty before he met his husband, and Simone and Father Jude before the apocalypse was even a thought.

The episode is full of emotional moments as the characters face the inevitable end of the world. But it also has its fair share of humor – particularly when it comes to Jamie's new girlfriend, who he met on the dating app "Apocalyptic Charm." She seems more interested in the end of the world than him, which creates some hilarious moments between the two of them.

Overall, "Saviour Day" is a poignant episode that really showcases the strengths of the show's ensemble cast. Each character gets their moment to shine and we get a deeper understanding of who they are and why they're important to the story. It sets up the finale perfectly and leaves you eager to see how everything will play out in the end.
