Amy Winehouse's Father Forced to Return (No Good) Charity Checks

Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, has been forced to return checks written out to “The Amy Winehouse Foundation.”

According to the Huffington Post, a domain squatter registered for the name before Winehouse could. As a result, the charity, which was created by Amy’s family to help those with substance abuse, and give aid to children and horses, is not only without a website, it’s also nameless.

To honor Amy, who was incredibly passionate about children and horses, the family announced at her funeral that they would establish “The Amy Winehouse Foundation” and work towards improving the system of private rehabilitation.

In the meantime, the domain was claimed by an outside party and Mitch Winehouse has been forced to send donations back.

As he explained on Saturday through his Twitter page:

"Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos we don't haven't got bank ac in that name. Mitch"

A new name has not been announced.

Got an idea? What name would you propose to the Winehouse family?
