VIDEO: Watch the First Trailer for 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol'

When we last saw Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise), he was flipping off of motorcycles and dealing with Philip Seymour Hoffman in "Mission: Impossible III," directed by J.J. Abrams ("Super 8").

Hunt's back for "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," which marks the fourth movie in the series and probably also sets some kind of record for most punctuation used in a movie title. And to give us a taste of the upcoming movie, the first theatrical trailer has hit the web.

The trailer, which is set to air in front of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" this weekend, shows Hunt being addressed by Tom Wilkinson, who I swear does 100 movies a year. It sounds like Hunt has been disavowed (again), and this time is joined by the rest of the IMF in being branded as fugitives and terrorists.

That's it for the exposition. The rest of the trailer shows a series of pretty awesome-looking fights and crazy stunts, including the scaling of the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world, over in Dubai). We also get a few glimpses of Jeremy Renner, and even a bit of Simon Pegg being a bad-ass. It looks like Pegg might have something of a "Q"-type role in the movie as well, explaining the newest gadget to Cruise's Hunt with the usual color-coded indicators.

This installment should have a bit of a different feel than the last, as it is being directed by Brad Bird, who directed Pixar's "The Incredibles." The trailer makes it look sort more like a large-scale, kung-fu version of "Fast & Furious" than a spy movie, but maybe that's not such a bad thing.
