Kristen Stewart is the Highest-Paid Actress of the Year: How Much Did She Make?

As it turns out, when you're the irreplacable star of one of the highest-grossing movie franchises in history, you make a lot of money. Who knew, right? So, of course, that means that Kristen Stewart, star of the "Twilight" series, was the highest-paid actress of the past year.

With the penultimate installment in the franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," hitting theaters late last year, Stewart topped the list of highest-paid actresses according to Forbes. Stewart brought in a healthy $34.5 million, narrowly beating Cameron Diaz ($34 million), who is a regular on the list and was certainly helped in the past year by starring in both "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and "Bad Teacher."

Of course, Stewart also had "Snow White and the Huntsman" to boost her income, and the coming year should be a good one for her as well: "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is due out in November.

Stewart reportedly earned $12.5 million for each of the last two movies in the "Twilight" series, up considerably from the $2 million she earned for the first movie in the series. Her latest contracts also allow her a share of the profits from the "Breaking Dawn" films, which are considerable.

The gap between Diaz in second place and the third place finisher, Sandra Bullock, was a big one. Bullock earned just $25 million to Diaz' $34 mil. Angelina Jolie followed in fourth with $20 million.

Notably, the combined income of the ten highest-earning women in Hollywood was less than two-thirds of what the ten highest-grossing men made: the women combined for about $200 million while the men earned $361 million.
