Naya Rivera, aka Santana from 'Glee,' Gets Her Own Solo Album

Naya Rivera, aka Santana from 'Glee,' Gets Her Own Solo Album Matthew Morrison. Mark Salling. Naya Rivera. What do these three have in common? They're all on "Glee," and they all have their own record deals for a solo album.

Rivera, who plays Santana on the hit Fox show, is the latest cast member to land her own solo record deal. Salling, who plays Puck, has one in the works and Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, has already released his (and featured a single on the show).

The shocking thing about this news is that Rivera, who started in a small supporting role and has worked her way in as a starring character with her own subplots, landed her deal while we're still waiting to hear news of Chris Colfer (Kurt), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Lea Michele (Rachel) doing the same. It's not that Rivera is untalented, it's just that...well, those other three are pretty darned good.

However, the character of Santana has become a major one of late, especially with this season's revelation that she is a lesbian and in love with the ditzy one-liner machine Brittany. Santana has also endeared herself to fans with her snarky (okay, sometimes bitchy) asides, making her one of few "New Directions" members that aren't all sunshine and rainbows.

Rivera has signed with Columbia Records. What sort of album she will put together is yet to be revealed...after all, Rivera hasn't fallen into a particular style or genre in the show, covering pop, soul, rock, and showtunes.
