FX Buys 13 Episodes of Animated Comedy 'Unsupervised' from 'Always Sunny' Team

FX Buys 13 Episodes of Animated Comedy 'Unsupervised' from 'Always Sunny' Team It's official! FX has bought 13 episodes of the animated series that the team behind "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has developed for them, just after the company (RCG) signed a $50 million deal with the network.

The new show is called "Unsupervised," and will follow teenagers Joel and Gary as they live life without any guidance from their parents. So while "Always Sunny" is about a bunch of adults acting like teenagers, this one will be about teenagers acting like teenagers.

Rob Rosell, Scott Marder and David Hornsby are the minds behind the show. Hornsby plays Rickety Cricket on "Sunny" and has just recently found his way onto another show, "How to Be a Gentleman" with "Entourage" alum Kevin Dillon.

The other good news: "Unsupervised" will be animated by the team behind "Archer," lead by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson. Their team has a great style, and it should lend itself well to the "Always Sunny" brand of humor.

And as if that wasn't enough, the stellar voice cast currently includes Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, and "Sunny" star Kaitlin Olson.

For now, there's no specific timetable on the show (13 animated episodes can take a long time), but FX has a pretty strong summer lineup now with "Louie" and "Wilfred," so perhaps it could fit in there.
