'Jersey Shore' Star Ronnie May Not be Able to Join the Cast in Italy

'Jersey Shore' Star Ronnie May Not be Able to Join the Cast in Italy Turns out punching a man in the face may not be such a bright thing to do, even on "Jersey Shore."

The whole cast of “Jersey Shore” are apparently excited for the upcoming fourth season of the MTV reality show, which the network recently announced will be filmed in Italy. According to MTV, shooting will start this spring but Ronald “Ronnie” Ortiz-Magro may not be able to join the cast in Italy because of the assault charge filed against him.

Radar Online reported that Ronnie was accused of third degree assault at New Jersey in September 2009, after punching a man in the face and causing him to lose consciousness while shooting the first season of “Jersey Shore.”

If proven guilty, he will spend 5 years in prison.

Vivia Italia? Not If You're in Court

A spokesperson from the Italian Embassy told Radar Online, "Persons who are currently in the criminal process cannot be issued a Visa. Any person applying for a visa to Italy must have their case fully adjudicated.”

Ronnie’s manager Matt Cohen is confident that Ronnie is free to travel to Italy and he said,"As of now, he is free to travel wherever he chooses and has a clean criminal record. Until he is actually convicted of a crime, he can go wherever he wants."

“We have plans for Ronnie to be part of season four of 'Jersey Shore' and travel to Italy for the show. Ronnie is taking the case very seriously and hopes for a positive outcome,"Cohen added.

He also emphasized, "As far as the pending criminal case, my client is innocent until proven guilty.”

What do you think? Should Ronnie's alleged knockout disqualify him from traveling with the cast? Is Ronnie just a brainless "gorilla" who deserves to see the inside of a slammer? Let us know on the Yidio Facebook page.
