Forever Your Girl? Not So Much: Paula Abdul's 'Live to Dance' Cancelled After One Season

Forever Your Girl? Not So Much: Paula Abdul's 'Live to Dance' Cancelled After One Season Paula Abdul’s "Live to Dance" has been cancelled.

According to an unnamed source, Abdul was informed of the show cancellation on Friday, and she took the news particularly hard.

"She spent the weekend at her home, surrounded by friends, rehashing CBS' devastating decision and wondering what she would do next," a source said.

The dance show started strong with 10.2 million viewers but by the end of the season, it only drew 4 million. The show, which garnered mixed reviews, was consequently one of the lowest rated programs on the four major networks (FOX, ABC, NBC and CBS).

But Paula was not quitting without a fight. The source added, "Paula loved that show and she hoped CBS would give it at least one more season to win viewers. But they were just not willing to take that risk."

All may not be lost for Abdul.

It's rumored that Simon Cowell is considering bringing the pop icon onto his new $5 million "X Factor" show as a judge.

Abdul brushed aside the rumors on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, but admitted she doesn't think he's a "Cold Hearted Snake."

"He always talks to me about how we'll work together somehow, some way," she told Leno.

"He's an acquired taste but I love him very much."
