Holly Robinson Peete Gets Booted From 'The Talk'

Holly Robinson Peete Gets Booted From 'The Talk' Oh, Jim Morrison. Wherever in the after-life you're being your very chill self, please don't begrudge me how I'm about to use your words. But Holly Robinson Peete, the time for talk is through.

Sadly, CBS informed the veteran actress Tuesday that she won't be joining fellow "The Talk" co-hosts Julie Chen and Sarah Gilbert or temporary additions Molly Shannon, Kris Jenner or Sheryl Underwood in a second season of the daytime gab-fest, according to TVLine.

In a statement, Peete expressed her disappointment that she won't be re-joining a show that she helped develop, but suggested no regrets either about having been along for the first season's ride.

"I've been around long enough to know that while you cannot control certain situations you CAN control how you respond to them. [Thanks to CBS] for a tremendous opportunity to realize a long held dream of mine to host a daytime talk show," Peete said.

"I learned SO much and will cherish and build upon my experience. Best of all I made some friends for life. I want to thank the viewers and those who supported and rallied around me and expressed appreciation for the humor and heart I attempted to bring to the table. You lifted me!"

In April this year, Peete hosted a weekly series on the show promoting autism awareness - a cause close to her heart, because it's a condition that affects RJ, one of her four sons with her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete. Peete was also notoriously vocal concerning issues close to America's black community.

The National Enquirer began circulating reports earlier this year that Peete clashed often backstage with then-fellow co-host Leah Remini. The  alleged clashes supposedly often began over differences of opinion over Remini's Scientologist beliefs and simple differences in personality.

Remini announced her own exit in August, seemingly parting on good terms with Peete.

Peete also co-hosted the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards alongside fellow entertainer Wayne Brady this past March.
