Watch Andes Andes: Matte de Coca

Andes : Matte de Coca brings the viewer in the high elevation of Cusco, the old capital of the Inca empire, Tahuantinsuyo. In a rarefied atmosphere of this Andean city we visit the colonial churches of the city built with stones taken out from the old Inca temples, we visit its charming squares and the most important temple of the Incas, Coricancha, together with Iglesia Santo Domingo built on top of it. Further we climb one of the surrounding hills and we visit Sacsayhuaman, old citadel and religious place overlooking the city, where is held, even today, the most important religious festival of the Incas, IntiRami. We end our visit in two other sites around the city, Puca Pucara, an old citadel guarding the road to Cusco, and Tambo Machai, nicknamed also the Inca Bath.
