From 1967 to 1990 the percussionist Billy Cobham, originally from Panama, played with all of the important musicians in the modern jazz scene. Amongst the more significant were: Miles Davis, Horace Silver, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, George Benson and his own bands Spectrum and Stratus.
