The film entitled Capturing the Friedmans is a film that provides factual reports of true stories. The film starts with investigations about the life of Arnold Friedman. This is done because he is suspected by the police for promoting and involved in child pornography. As the investigators proceed in their search, they find pornographic material in his house. However they also find out that Friedman teaches young children computer skills in his house and this gives the police more reasons to confirm his pornographic activities with children. The police interview some of the children that Friedman teaches and they confirm that he engages them in sexual activities during their computer lessons. Jarecki who is one of the investigators interviews some of the children who tell him Friedman has never engaged them in any of the abusive acts the other children are talking about. Friedman and his son are both put under police custody as they await the court’s trial and judgment. They are however not put in jail but allowed to stay at home. The police make recordings of all their investigation procedures at Friedman’s house and also take pictures. Arnold Frieman's wife confesses and admits that her husband is guilty of all he is suspected of, and begs him to tell the truth. Arnolds pleads guilty to all he is accused of with the hope that his son Jesse will be set free. However he insists that he did not abuse his computer students. Arnold Friedman’s son also confesses and exposes the fact that his father is indeed guilty as he even abused him in the past. Jesse’s lawyer Panaro tells the court that Jesse had told him about his father molesting him in the past. Jesse denies telling Panaro all that and accuses Panaro of advising him to blame his father and plead guilty. Both Friedman and his son Jesse are declared guilty and sent to jail. Friedman dies in jail and Jesse is released 13 years after.
