Chief Joseph & the Nez Perce Indians is a children's documentary about the Native American chief and tribe. The narrator is a Nez Perce child. Chief Joseph (1840 - 1904) had led a tribe in Oregon. He and his people clashed with the United States Army when the latter decided to relocate the tribe to a reservation in Idaho. While some Indians went peacefully, Chief Joseph led a resistance that eventually resulted in a conflict called the Nez Perce War.
