Coplan Saves His Skin is a 1968 French-language espionage thriller directed by Italian filmmaker Youri. Starring Claudio Brook, Margaret Lee, and Klaus Kinski in the lead roles, the film centers around the French intelligence agency's efforts to stop a group of terrorists from assassinating a newly elected African president visiting Paris.

The film opens in Paris, where the new president of "Aria," a fictional African country, is visiting to meet with French government officials. Amidst the pomp and grandeur, a group of terrorists led by the suave and sinister Mr. Kurna (Klaus Kinski) plans to assassinate the president using a briefcase bomb. Enter Coplan (Claudio Brook), a suave and debonair secret agent assigned to protect the president.

Coplan, who is known for his quick thinking and bravery, quickly sets out to thwart the terrorists' plans. He must move quickly and with great skill because the terrorists are highly trained and know how to evade the police at every turn. To make matters worse, Coplan discovers that someone within the French intelligence community is working with the terrorists, compromising their efforts to stop the assassination.

As the clock ticks down to the time of the president's arrival, Coplan finds himself in a race against time to stop the terrorist attack. He risks everything to save the president's life, fully aware of the risks and dangers involved in his mission. Coplan must use all his skills, from marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat to his wits and intelligence as the terrorists try everything they can to outsmart him.

Margaret Lee stars as Angel, a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses paths with Coplan during his mission. Her role in the plot is never quite clear, and her loyalties are often suspect, adding a degree of mystery and intrigue to the plot.

Throughout the movie, the action is fast-paced and suspenseful, with a mixture of car chases, gunfights, and hand-to-hand combat scenes. The film's visual style reflects the late 1960s, with garish fashions, psychedelic visuals, and a groovy soundtrack that perfectly captures the era.

While Coplan Saves His Skin may not be a classic of the espionage genre, it is an entertaining and thrilling movie that fans of the genre will enjoy. It offers a glimpse into a bygone era of spy films, with its mix of macho posturing, high-stakes plot lines, and glamorous locations.

The performances of the lead actors are solid, with Brook playing Coplan as a steely-eyed and resourceful agent who never loses his cool. Kinski is excellent as the charismatic and villainous Mr. Kurna, a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his aims.

Overall, Coplan Saves His Skin is an enjoyable 1960s spy thriller that offers a glimpse into a bygone era of the genre. Fans of the genre will appreciate its style and thrilling plot, while newcomers will be fascinated by its mix of glamour and danger.
