Watch Day of the Painter

This is an Oscar winning short film that takes a humorous look at the world of abstract art. The movie makes an innovative artistic statement itself as it has no sound except for appropriate background music. The painter goes about his day splattering various colors on a canvas but cannot seem to achieve a result to his liking. Even the seagulls stop by to look with disdain at his efforts. He finally rips up the canvas when a buyer arrives and ironically chooses one of the discarded pieces of art. The artist is happy but still throws the rest of it into the sea.
