Watch Different Hats Same Boat
- 48 min
By participating in theater games, dementia patients discover abilities long forgotten: playing, laughing, singing, even improvising. And their partners can finally let go and be themselves again. In a drama workshop all participants have gained a strong measure of this quality of life. The film accompanies two couples and shows how much creativity is still possible for dementia patients and how necessary it is for their partners. The workshop gave everybody a great amount of energy. The act of rowing in an imaginary boat, the premiere of the improvised play, is a strong metaphor for this positive and healing experience. The film shows in a respectful and artistic way how forgotten memories and a zest for life can be brought back.
