Watch Economy of Syria

The economy of Syria is based on oil, industry, services and agriculture. In the 1960s the GDP or Gross Domestic Product of the country expanded to 80%. It reached as high as 336% of total growth in the 1970s. The Syrian Economy shrank by around 33% in the 1980s. Natural resources found in Syria are phosphate rock, crude oil, iron ore, marble, rock salt, gypsum, manganese ore, asphalt.
