Watch For Your Consideration

For Your Consideration is a mockumentary film starring Plastic Jesus, Joshua Allen Monroe, Ginger, Dawn Dunning, Sabo, and Meg Zany, which was released in 2006. Her character, who changes her name to "Jacqueline", undergoes a complete transformation to become Hollywood-ready, getting a nose job, fake breasts, and adopting an outrageous accent. Posey's performance is a riot, and her scenes steal the show.

Throughout the movie, the actors and producers become more and more delusional as they hope for that elusive Oscar nomination, and the ridiculousness of their attempts to achieve this goal make for some of the funniest moments in the film. For example, the producers hire a young up-and-coming actor (Joshua Allen Monroe) to play a character in a way that will appeal to the Academy voters, leading to a hilariously awkward scene as he attempts to deliver his lines in a ham-fisted Oscar bait style.

The film also deals with themes of identity and self-acceptance. Marilyn struggles with her identity as an actress who is no longer in demand, Victor lives in denial about his age and his dwindling career, and the young actor must navigate the balancing act of being true to himself while trying to make it in Hollywood.

The satire in For Your Consideration may hit a little too close to home for those in the film industry, but it is a biting and entertaining commentary on the world of show business. The mockumentary format allows for a lot of comedy gold, and the ensemble cast, which also includes Jane Lynch and Fred Willard, is outstanding.
