At the time of the incident, Hearst was an impressionable college student, who eventually joined forces with her captors and operated under the name Tanya. The documentary offers insights into what happened to Hearst during her time with the SLA, who had hoped to provoke a class war within the United States. Directed by Robert Stone, the documentary features interviews with two of Hearst's captors, Russ Little and Michael Bortin.
