Kung Fury is a short independent film that pays homage to the action flicks of the 1980s. It follows the story of a police officer named Kung Fury, played by David Sandberg, who has been given extraordinary martial arts abilities in order to catch Hitler, who has time traveled from the 1940s to the present day to conquer the world. The film begins with an over-the-top action scene, with Kung Fury jumping off his motorcycle and taking out a group of criminals with his expert martial arts moves. But the real fun begins when he is called to stop a new villain wreaking havoc in the city: a kung fu master named Thor who has been resurrected by a computer hacker.

As Kung Fury and Thor fight it out, the film takes a hilarious turn, with a talking arcade game named Hackerman joining in and assisting Kung Fury in his quest to stop the hacker responsible for Thor's resurrection. This is where the film's inherent silliness comes to the forefront - Hackerman's powers include the ability to time travel and control reality, something that comes in handy as Kung Fury must time travel himself back to the 1940s to face off against Hitler.

Once he gets back in time, Kung Fury teams up with a Viking chick named Barbarianna and a tough-as-nails Triceracop in order to take down Hitler and his army of Nazi robots. The final showdown is an insane display of silly violence, with Kung Fury taking on Hitler in a one-on-one battle that culminates in an epic explosion.

The film absolutely nails the vibe of the 80s action films it references, with bright neon lights, a killer synth soundtrack, and over-the-top action sequences that border on parody. But what sets it apart is its inherent sense of humor - Kung Fury is a self-aware film, completely aware of its own ridiculousness, and never takes itself too seriously.

David Sandberg is a revelation as Kung Fury, portraying the character with the perfect mix of stoicism and absurdity. Jorma Taccone does a hilarious turn as Hitler, playing the role completely straight and providing some of the film's funniest moments. And Steven Chew is a standout as Triceracop, the tough, horned police officer who's not afraid to take on the Nazis.

Overall, Kung Fury is a delightful, ludicrous romp that's perfect for anyone who loves action movies or just needs a good laugh. It's ridiculous, it's nonsensical, but it's also incredibly entertaining. Highly recommended.

Kung Fury is a 2015 action movie with a runtime of 31 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 8.0.
