In the Scottish town of Inveree, a new police officer Rachel Heggie (Pollyanna McIntosh) is being introduced to her coworkers, who are finishing up their shift on a quiet night. However, things quickly take a dark turn when a mysterious man named Six (Liam Cunningham) is brought into the station after being found wandering on the road. Six is oddly despondent and appears to have no identification or explanation for his presence in Inveree, but before anyone can investigate further, a group of masked individuals invades the station and starts trying to kill everyone inside.

As chaos ensues, Six exhibits supernatural abilities and reveals himself to be a kind of demon who has come to pass judgment on the corrupt and sinful people of Inveree. With Rachel as the only surviving police officer, she and Six must band together to survive the night and face their inner demons. Along the way, they must confront the dark secrets of every other individual in the station, including the cowardly but ambitious sergeant MacReady (Bryan Larkin), the alcoholic and abusive doctor Helen (Niall Greig Fulton), and the naive rookie Jack (Hanna Stanbridge).

Let Us Prey is a tense and atmospheric horror movie that explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the ways in which individuals can be corrupted by power and darkness. The majority of the film takes place within the confines of the police station, which adds to the claustrophobic and intense tone of the story. The film also features striking visuals, particularly in its use of dark lighting and shadows to heighten the sense of looming danger.

At the center of Let Us Prey is the character of Six, who is played with a quiet intensity by Liam Cunningham. Six is a figure of mystery and terror, with supernatural powers that are both captivating and unnerving. Cunningham conveys a sense of otherworldly presence as he navigates the events of the film, often seeming almost detached from the violence and chaos around him. However, as the story progresses, Six's motivations and true nature become increasingly complex, leading to a surprising and satisfying conclusion.

The other actors in the film also deliver strong performances, particularly Pollyanna McIntosh as Rachel. Rachel is a character struggling with her own past trauma and the temptation to give into her darker impulses. McIntosh plays her with a quiet strength and vulnerability that makes her a compelling protagonist. Bryan Larkin is also effective as the cowardly and self-serving sergeant MacReady, bringing a sense of comic relief to the otherwise intense and dark narrative.

While Let Us Prey certainly delivers on scares and gore, it also offers a more introspective and philosophical approach to horror. The film grapples with questions about the nature of evil and the thin line between order and chaos, with Six serving as a kind of moral arbiter who judges the sins of the characters around him. This isn't a simple story of good versus evil, but rather a nuanced exploration of the human condition and the ways in which our own weaknesses and failings can lead us astray.

Overall, Let Us Prey is a stylish and thought-provoking horror movie that offers more than just jump scares and gore. With compelling performances and an engaging premise, it's a must-see for fans of the genre who are looking for something a bit more thoughtful and complex.

Let Us Prey is a 2014 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8.
