This video is an edited home video of a selections from live performance by myself as a young pianist in Washington DC in 1997. Selections include: Piano Sonata No. 3 in A minor (Op. 28) by Sergei Prokofiev, and Sonata in b minor by Franz Liszt. Described by my piano professor, Marilyn Neeley, the rarely-attempted Liszt Sonata in b minor is touted as the third most difficult piece of the standard piano repertoire. She cited Sviatoslav Richter as the "gold standard" of recordings of the Liszt Sonata, and Martha Argerich, as the best recording by a young pianist. In this context, Marilyn Neeley stated in 1997 that my live performance and a studio recording I made shortly thereafter were "nearly as good as Martha Argerich, at a similar age," and "probably of professional recording quality," given my age and circumstances.
