This documentary focuses on one of the most beautiful, and unique, parts of Western Africa, a Kenyan nature reserve extending along the shores of Lake Nakuru not far from the provincial capital city. The area attracts a large, diverse population of birds. Many fascinating wild land animals also frequent the locale, including endangered species. Additionally, some rare plants exist in the adjoining forest to the south. In 1967, Nakuru became the first national park in Africa to obtain the distinction of becoming a designated bird reserve, as well. The film highlights the efforts of conservationists to protect this vital area.
