Pretty Little Addict is a dramatic thriller released in 2016 that is directed by Monika Mitchell and written by Ken Sanders. The movie stars Andrea Bowen as a young woman named Johanna who, after being abandoned by her parents and struggling to find her way in life, becomes addicted to prescription drugs. The movie opens with a glimpse into Johanna's life, where she is seen struggling to cope with depression and anxiety. Her parents are divorced, and she has a strained relationship with both of them. Her father is a recovering alcoholic who is slowly losing his battle with addiction, while her mother is a successful lawyer who is too busy with her career to take an interest in her daughter's life. Johanna is left to fend for herself, dealing with her emotions the best she can.

At the onset of the movie, Johanna begins to suffer from migraines, causing her to miss her classes and fall behind on her studies. She visits a doctor who prescribes her painkillers to alleviate her symptoms, and she quickly becomes dependent on them. Johanna soon discovers that taking the pills makes her feel good, boosting her confidence and ability to function in daily life. She starts taking more and more pills, eventually becoming addicted to painkillers.

Over time, Johanna's addiction to drugs spirals out of control. She develops an obsession with getting her hands on more pills, which leads her to steal money from her father and manipulate her boyfriend, Eric, played by Scott Lyster, into getting her more drugs. Her addiction begins to affect her relationships, causing her to push away those who care about her. Her mental health deteriorates, and she becomes increasingly paranoid and erratic. She even begins to see hallucinations, causing her to question what is real and what is not.

As Johanna's addiction becomes more severe, she is forced to confront the harsh realities of her situation. She loses her job, her friends, and her family's trust. She attempts to quit on her own, but her withdrawal symptoms are too severe, and she relapses. Things get worse when she finds herself in a dangerous situation, putting her life at risk. She is eventually forced to confront her addiction head-on and seek help.

Overall, Pretty Little Addict is a gripping and emotional movie that tackles the issue of addiction in a realistic and poignant way. The director and writer did an excellent job of portraying the struggles of addiction and how it can consume an individual's life. The acting performances by Andrea Bowen, Scott Lyster, and Chelah Horsdal were strong, and they brought life to their characters, making them believable and relatable. The film dealt with a topic that is not often talked about in mainstream cinema, and it did so in a way that felt authentic and meaningful.
