Rock-a-Doodle is a family film directed by Don Bluth which was released in April 1992. Not only is this film a family friendly film but it is also an animated cartoon filled with musical numbers and characters that provide a variety of entertainment for the entire family. Following the story of Chanticleer (voice by Glen Campbell) a rooster who sings every morning to wake up the sun and all of the animals that reside on the farm. While his singing keeps the farm happy Chanticleer finds himself in a rivalry against another rooster who was sent by the Grand Duke of Owls to compete. Chanticleer with an overwhelming win forgets to sing causing the sun to rise on its own and the other farm animals to rebel against him and give in to the Grand Duke's reign. Edmond, a young boy who is hearing this story from his Mother, believes that the story is real and he can call on the help of Chanticleer. Though it is but a story to his Mother, Edmond calls on Chanticleer to sing for the sun to come out and fight the storm from destroying the farm he loves. Unfortunately for Edmond he finds himself having to deal with the Grand Duke to help him deal with the storm that lies ahead. Causing more problems than assistance, Edmond is caught up in trouble and does indeed need the help of Chanticleer and the rest of the farm. Chanticleer and the many farm animals that occupy the farm try to come to terms and battle it out with The Duke in order to save the farm and Edmond from the from the wrath of the Grand Duke of Owls and the spells he has cast. Between the storm and the Duke, Edmond and the farm animals have a lot to power through using courage, friendship, and love to defeat the storm and the Grand Duke of Owls.
