Sontham is a Telugu-language romantic comedy film released in 2002, directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Ravi Kishore. The film stars Aryan Rajesh, Namitha, and Rohit in lead roles. Mohammad Ali, Ananth, Tanikella Bharani, and Ahuti Prasad play supporting roles. The story revolves around two childhood friends, Venu (Aryan Rajesh) and Anu (Namitha), who grow up together but as they become teenagers, they start developing feelings for each other. However, both of them are reluctant to express their feelings to each other, fearing that it might affect their friendship.

The first half of the movie shows how Venu and Anu grow up together, supporting each other in every situation. Venu is a carefree guy who loves to enjoy his life, while Anu is a girl who is always serious about her goals. Their parents are also close friends, and they share a bond that is stronger than their children's bond.

As they grow up, Venu starts feeling that he should express his love to Anu, but he fears that if he does so, he might lose his best friend. So, he decides to keep his feelings to himself, hoping that Anu will perhaps realise her love for him someday. In the meantime, Anu's family decides to shift to the United States, and she leaves Venu behind, without expressing her feelings for him.

The second half of the movie shows how Venu has grown up to be a matured and responsible person, who takes care of his family's business. One day, he meets Anu again after many years. Anu, who has become a successful woman in the US, is impressed with Venu's transformation and the two of them start spending time with each other.

However, when Venu decides to express his love to Anu, he finds out that she is already engaged to a guy named Sunil. Venu is heartbroken, and he decides to leave Anu alone, as he can't handle seeing her with someone else. The rest of the story follows how Venu comes to terms with his feelings and decides what he really wants in life.

Sontham is a beautifully shot and directed film. The music, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, is one of the highlights of the movie. The songs, especially "Nenunnanu" and "Unnattundi Gundey" are still popular among Telugu music lovers. The chemistry between Namitha and Aryan Rajesh is also commendable, as they share a bond that feels real and relatable.
