Calgary is the biggest city in the province of Alberta, Canada, and a center of the petroleum and natural gas industry. In affluent Calgary there are 20,000 homeless people. Artur Pawlowski, a Polish emigrant, and Street Church Ministries distribute more than 200,000 meals a year among people in need. Artur Pawlowski has received over 150 fines and summonses relating to the work feeding and caring for the homeless. For his advocacy work, he has been arrested ten times. However, he has never been criminally convicted. Over several years, the City of Calgary has spent over two million dollars on trying to destroy the Street Church.
