Sword Master is a 2016 Chinese martial arts action film directed by Derek Yee. The movie is centered around a legendary swordsman Yu Shu-Lien, who has retired from the martial arts world and now runs a restaurant. She is tasked by a group known as the Dark Stone to protect their leader, who they believe will bring together their scattered organization and bring prosperity to the community. As the search for the leader intensifies, Yu Shu-Lien is joined by one of her former students, a swordsman known as Snow Vase, who helps her take on the Dark Stone and their rival factions in a series of high-octane fight scenes across various locations.

The main character of Sword Master, Yu Shu-Lien, is portrayed by veteran actress Yang Yang. She is a skilled warrior who has retired from the martial arts world after a traumatic event in her past. Despite her peaceful life, Yu Shu-Lien is still respected and feared by many, as her reputation as the greatest swordsman of her time is widely known. During the course of the film Yu Shu-Lien confronts her past and her present, while trying to protect her allies and the people she loves.

Kenny Lin plays the former student of Yu Shu-Lien named Tie-Fang, who later changes his name to Hades. He is a brave, loyal and determined young man who has been searching for his beloved master for years. Peter Ho plays the role of original Snow Vase, a skilled swordsman who brings a different skill set to the art of sword fighting. He is charming, confident and resourceful, often using his wit and cunning to best his opponents. Yiyan Jiang portrays a prominent member of the Dark Stone who serves as the film's main antagonist, known as Truss. He is a cool, calculating and ruthless man who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.

The fight scenes in Sword Master are well choreographed, with the various styles of sword fighting on display. Derek Yee, who has extensive experience in the martial arts film genre, brings his vision to the screen with visually stunning sequences that utilize the swords as an extension of the characters themselves. In addition, the film's visual effects team provided breathtaking backgrounds that create an epic atmosphere that showcases the film's scale and impact.

One of the standout features of Sword Master is its use of 3D visuals. The 3D technology adds depth and dimension to the already immersive fight scenes, creating a unique and engaging viewing experience for the audience. The movie's use of 3D also adds a layer of detail to the settings, creating a more realistic and immersive world for the characters to inhabit.

Overall, Sword Master is a well-made and entertaining martial arts action film that blends thrilling fight scenes with engaging plot and characters. The movie's stunning visuals, coupled with its use of 3D technology, present a cinematic experience that is both visually appealing and emotionally resonant.
