Watch Taking Back the Waves

This is a 2005 movie showing the horrors of apartheid in South Africa. It's told through the eyes of a local surfer and his family. The surfer has many flashbacks illustrating the horrors he saw over time. Cass Collier is a surfer who enjoys life and the waves that surround it. But he doesn't like the treatment local black people receive from the authorities. They're forbidden from going to the beaches, much less surf in the waters. His stories illustrate how the blacks eventually, through much upheaval, receive rights and privileges that they never had before. How South Africa changes into the inclusive community it is today.
