LIFE OF ARMY PERSONNEL ON DUTY IN EUROPE DEPICTED ON "THE BIG PICTURE" -- In this episode of THE BIG PICTURE there is a departure from the usual format. The footage is culled from the best of Army newsreels produced for American forces and their families in Europe. Newsreel in style, the footage was originally released in motion picture theaters, operated by the Army in Germany. It was offered to overseas personnel for their entertainment and information, and to keep them aware of all facets of their mission. In presenting this newsreel, THE BIG PICTURE is providing for the American people a reflection of what life is like for the soldier in Europe.
