Experience the American Journey through our country's visual heritage in this historical recording provided by the National Archives of the United States. From the U.S. Army's "The Big Picture" television series, 1950-1975. Ordnance in Europe is a big, sprawling story and it can be told in many different ways. One way is to tell about the payoff--when ordnance activity is finally translated into battlefield action. Another, is to tell the story in terms of the people who make it and finally, supply. BIG PICTURE cameras cover those three phases of the story. In addition, coverage is given to salvage and the gigantic task of maintenace associated with field recovery of vehicles. In this film presentation, viewers will learn how ordnance personnel in Europe contribute strongly to the effectiveness of the American soldier, and the security of his country.
