The Hope and The Change movies was released in 2012 and it follows forty democrats and independents who were supportive of Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2008. President Obama's 2008 presidential bid was all about "change", as he promised to take America out of the financially troubling moment we were in, and promised Americans that he could do better, that he could provide the change American's so very much needed. This film is made by Citizens United Productions, and it takes us on a journey with the forty people who supported President Obama back in 2008.
It is a 60 minute film that takes us through the daily routine of regular hard working men and women, both Democrats and Independents. It is not scripted, it was never rehearsed, it is purely documentary. The diversity of the people cast in the film crosses all kinds of people, both racially and economically. These are people who live in seven swing states as well, and these particular swing states are what will eventually decide the 2012 election. When you watch this movie, you will be able to see how, over the past four years, our nation, and it's economy have substantially changed under the leadership of President Obama.
The producers of this movie, who are all award-winning on their own accounts, traveled to Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Colorado and Iowa. Their goal was to find American citizens from all walks of life, who have somewhere along the way lost faith in their government. Obama focused on hope and change, but through the stories of these Americans, that's not what they have seen in the past four years. These Americans are clearly disappointed in where our country is heading and even more so that Obama did not deliver on his promise of hope and change. Through the voices of everyday American citizens, who are hard working and dedicated in a hopeful future for their family, they will have a major decision in the future of this country and the election of our next President. Watching this film gives you the sense of exactly how one vote can in fact make a difference. The Hope and the Change will give viewers a chance to reflect on their own feelings about the direction of our government, so that they can make informed decisions when it comes time to elect our President, not just in 2012, but for many years to come.
