Will Smith and his son Jayden play real life characters Chris Gardner and his young son Chris. The beginning starts with the main characters evicted from their home and they are abruptly hopeless. In order to get a new home and a place they can call their own Chris Gardner has to endure several hardships while also having to put on a brave face for his son. Their life consists of payless internships, shelters, soup kitchen lines, and constantly running for public transportation.
