TrashHouse is a British horror film which was released in 2005. Directed by British filmmaker Pat Higgins, it was Higgins' directorial debut, and his passion project. The film was produced on a low budget, and this is evident in the production values. Despite this limitation, the film does not let that get in the way of a good story, and it has some genuinely good, and spooky scares.

The film is centred around six strangers, who are trapped inside a house by a mad scientist, known only as The Doctor (played by Kris Fisher). The Doctor is conducting horrific experiments on them, using a range of savage and sadistic methods. The characters are a varied bunch, ranging from a drug-addicted party girl, to an innocent transgender adolescent, and a cowardly businessman. The actors are mostly newcomers, but they all do a good job, considering the movie's limitations.

The film opens with the group of strangers waking up in a dingy, disused junkyard. Each of them has a case of amnesia and no memory of how they got there. They eventually stumble upon a creepy old house, and they all decide to explore it. This is when the Doctor appears, and they find out that they are part of his twisted experiments. The group soon begins to realise that there is more to the house than they first thought. As the Doctor's sadistic torture methods become more extreme, and the secrets of the house slowly unravel, the characters must battle to survive and escape.

TrashHouse is an incredibly brutal and unsettling film. There are several scenes that might make people squirm in their seats, as the Doctor carries out his heinous experiments on the helpless captives. Despite its low budget, the film manages to create a creepy atmosphere that grabs the viewer's attention from the start. Director Pat Higgins uses a variety of angled shots and sound effects to build suspense and tension.

The film may not be for everyone, as it does have some graphic violence, and a few scenes of nudity. But this is in keeping with the horror genre, and it doesn't seem gratuitous, like some other films in the genre can sometimes be. The film's gritty and low-budget aesthetic actually adds to the gruesome and chaotic feel of the story.

Overall, TrashHouse is a dark and disturbing film, that will appeal to fans of British horror cinema. It is a well-made film with a chilling story, and is a great example of what can be achieved with a limited budget. The film's graphic violence and bleak view of humanity may not be for everyone, but those who are brave enough to take it on will be rewarded with a well-crafted horror experience. And at a running time of just 78 minutes, it's a quick and dirty ride that doesn't overstay its welcome.
