Watch New York Jets
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey is home to the NFL’s New York Jets. Founded in 1959, “Gang Green” is one of the most iconic American football teams in history. With their close proximity to New York City the Jets enjoy a large and enthusiastic fan base.
Perhaps the most famous Jet of all time is Joe Namath. “Broadway Joe” lead the Jets to victory in Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts with a score of 16-7. The win is still the only Super Bowl championship won by the “Green and White”. Super Bowl III is also the only Super Bowl the Jets have had the chance to play in. They have also won the AFL East and AFC East division four times with the latest being in 2002. Other notable players that are now enshrined in the New York Jets Ring of Honor include: Wide Receiver Don Maynard, Running Back Curtis Martin and former Owner Leon Hess.
This season the Jets hope to build upon last year’s lessons. New Coach Todd Bowles will lead the team through the 16 game schedule. Bowles is coming to New York replacing long time coach Rex Ryan at the helm. After several seasons of subpar performance and many media gaffes by Ryan, it was decided by Jets ownership to move in a new direction. Bowles previous position was that of Defensive Coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. Fans are hoping his success in Arizona will follow him to revamp the Jets mediocre defense and offense.
