In the Land of Extremes, the fourth episode of Africa's Wild Horizons, viewers journey alongside an intrepid group of wildlife experts as they explore the diverse and often unforgiving landscapes of Namibia.

But as the team soon discovers, Namibia's desert environment has also created ideal conditions for some of the world's most unusual and fascinating wildlife. The team meets the pygmy chameleon, an incredibly small and agile reptile that can change color in response to its surroundings, and the horned adder, a venomous snake that lurks in wait for its prey.
As the episode progresses, the team travels further inland, into the grasslands that stretch to the north of the Namib Desert. Here, they discover thriving populations of giraffe, one of the few species that can survive in the region's nutrient-poor soils.
But the grasslands are not without their dangers. Lions, cheetahs, and other predators roam the open savannah, hunting for their next meal. In one hair-raising encounter, the team witnesses a cheetah stalking its prey, moving with lightning-fast speed and agility across the grasses.
As the sun sets over the grasslands, the team sets up camp and prepares for a night under the stars. But the peace and quiet is short-lived, as they are awakened by the calls of hyenas, the sound of predators on the hunt.
In the final segment of the episode, the team travels to the coast, where they encounter a completely different landscape. Here, in the chilly waters of the Atlantic, they meet the Cape fur seal, a species that has also evolved unusual adaptations for survival. The seals must navigate treacherous rocks and the predatory threat of great white sharks to reach the rich feeding grounds in the open ocean.
Throughout the episode, Africa's Wild Horizons provides viewers with a unique glimpse into the complex and interconnected web of life in Namibia's extreme environments.
