Ep 9. The Shot

BoJack Horseman season 2 episode 9, titled "The Shot", follows the aftermath of BoJack's decision to fire his friend and agent, Princess Carolyn. BoJack's career has hit a snag, and he's feeling down and out. Things don't get any better when he attends the birthday party of Diane's ex, Mr. Peanutbutter, and ends up getting into a fight with one of his guests. Meanwhile, Princess Carolyn is facing her own struggles as she tries to land a new client who could potentially save her career.

Throughout the episode, we see BoJack and Princess Carolyn both grappling with feelings of guilt, regret, and uncertainty. BoJack is clearly struggling with the consequences of his actions, but he's not quite sure how to make things right with Princess Carolyn and move forward with his career. Meanwhile, Princess Carolyn is dealing with her own insecurities about her worth as an agent and her ability to win over new clients.

As the episode progresses, we also see glimpses of BoJack's past and the role that Princess Carolyn has played in his life. Through flashbacks, we see how Princess Carolyn was always there for BoJack, even when no one else was. She was his rock, his confidante, and his biggest supporter. But now, with their friendship in shambles, BoJack is left feeling lost and alone.

Despite the heavy themes of the episode, there are still plenty of laughs to be had. From Todd's ridiculous antics to Mr. Peanutbutter's over-the-top birthday party, there are plenty of comedic moments that help to balance out the heavier emotional content.

Overall, "The Shot" is a poignant and thought-provoking episode that explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and the consequences of our actions. BoJack and Princess Carolyn's struggles are all too relatable, and viewers will no doubt find themselves rooting for these two flawed but lovable characters as they navigate their way through their respective challenges.
