Celebrity dating show, Celebs Go Dating, returns for its fourth season with a brand new line-up of famous singletons. This season's roster includes Love Island's 'Muggy' Mike Thalassitis, TOWIE's Gemma Collins, Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson, comedian London Hughes, singer Tallia Storm, and Olympic champion Jade Jones.
In the season premiere, a nervous group of celebrity singles joins the agency for their first briefing. Relationship experts Lady Nadia Essex and Eden Blackman outline the rules - no sex on the first date, no social media until the relationship is established, and no ghosting - before introducing the celebrities to their new dating coach, international model and presenter, Paul Carrick Brunson.
The first celebrity to arrive is 'Muggy' Mike, who rose to fame on Love Island last year. Mike is hoping to find someone who can look past his controversial reputation and see the real him. Next up is Gemma Collins, bringing her infamous sass and straight-talking to the agency. She's looking for someone who's got the "hunger and success" that she has.
Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson is next to arrive, admitting that he's been quite unlucky with love so far, and wants to find someone who can match his sense of humour. Comedian London Hughes is up next, feeling apprehensive but excited to try something new. She wants someone who can make her laugh, but also respect her as a woman.
Singer Tallia Storm is the penultimate celeb to join the agency, revealing that she's never had a serious relationship, and hoping that the show will change that. Finally, Olympic champion Jade Jones arrives, making it clear that she's not looking for any 'rubbish' - she wants to find someone she can take seriously.
When the group meets for the first time, there's an initial spark between Sam and Tallia, but the tension quickly dissipates when Jade arrives and steals the attention of the group. The celebrities are then given their first challenge - speed dating. Each celebrity has five minutes to make a connection with each of the potential dates.
There are a few awkward moments, including when Gemma Collins is presented with a man who works in politics, and she makes it clear that she doesn't want to associate with anyone who shares different beliefs to her. Meanwhile, 'Muggy' Mike struggles to make a good impression, getting stuck on the same topics of conversation with each girl.
At the end of the speed dating session, each celebrity picks one person to go on a date with, and the pairs are announced. Sam and Tallia end up choosing each other, but the other celebrities are left feeling uncertain about their choices.
Before the dates, the celebrities receive some one-on-one coaching from Paul. He advises them to be themselves, not try too hard, and most importantly, to listen to their dates. On their dates, there are varying degrees of success. Mike seems to be getting on well with his date, but is thrown off when she brings up his Love Island past. Jade's date turns out to be a total flop, with her date admitting he only wanted to go out with her because she's famous.
The episode ends with the celebrities meeting back up to discuss their dates and reveal whether or not they want to see their date again. Overall, the premiere sets the scene for what should be a dramatic and entertaining season of Celebs Go Dating.
