Forest is the twelfth episode of the fifth season of Cyanide & Happiness Shorts. The episode starts with a serene view of a forest. Birds are chirping, and all is calm. Suddenly, the scene changes as a hand with a machete chops down a tree. It is then revealed that the hand belongs to a lumberjack who is cutting down trees in the forest.

As the lumberjack continues to chop down trees, he is approached by a group of animals consisting of a squirrel, bird, and rabbit. The squirrel protests about how he is destroying their natural habitat. However, the lumberjack brushes them off and continues with his work.

The following morning, the lumberjack wakes up to find out that his arms have transformed into trees overnight. He panics and tries to cut them off with his trusty machete, but it doesn't work. He then decides to go to the hospital, but the doctors are unable to help him.

As the days go by, the trees on his arms begin to grow and take on a life of their own. Soon, they start to bear fruits, and the lumberjack realizes that he can use the fruits to make money. He sets up a stand and starts selling the fruits, which become very popular.

Years go by, and the lumberjack grows old, but his arms remain the same. His stand becomes a permanent fixture in the forest, and he becomes very wealthy, thanks to the fruits from his arms. However, as he gets older, his arms become a burden to him.

One day, while sitting in his stand, he sees the same group of animals that protested against him many years ago. They are now old and gray. They come to thank him for the trees he has planted and for the life he has given them.

The lumberjack realizes the error of his ways and decides to give back to the forest. He uses his wealth to fund conservation efforts and plant more trees. He becomes an advocate for the forest and the animals that call it home.

The episode ends with a view of the forest - it is lush and green, with animals frolicking. The lumberjack is shown planting a young sapling, and the screen fades to black.

In conclusion, Forest is a heartwarming episode that sends a message about the importance of conservation. It shows how humans can make mistakes and harm the environment, but they can also make a positive impact by giving back. The episode is a great reminder of our responsibility to take care of our planet and the creatures that inhabit it.
