Cyanide & Happiness Shorts season 5 episode 8, titled "Patrick," is a dark comedic exploration of the consequences of one man's obsession with achieving physical perfection. The episode follows Patrick, a man who has dedicated his life to bodybuilding and sculpting the perfect physique. As the episode opens, we see Patrick in his home gym, lifting weights and admiring his reflection in the mirror. Despite the fact that he is already incredibly fit, Patrick is driven by a relentless desire to improve his body even further.

We see Patrick spending all his time in the gym, neglecting his relationships and other aspects of his life in pursuit of his goal. His obsession with being the best leads him down a dangerous path, as he begins using performance-enhancing drugs in order to achieve quicker results.

As Patrick's body becomes more and more muscular, his mental health starts to deteriorate. He becomes increasingly paranoid and aggressive, lashing out at those around him. His family and friends try to intervene, but he is too focused on his goal to listen to reason.

In a particularly disturbing scene, Patrick is shown injecting himself with a cocktail of drugs in order to prepare for a bodybuilding competition. The camera lingers on his face as he writhes in pain, highlighting the physical toll that his obsession has taken on him.

In the final moments of the episode, we see Patrick collapse on stage during the bodybuilding competition. It is implied that his drug use has caused him to suffer a heart attack. As he lies on the ground, gasping for air, the judges award him a trophy for his performance. The episode ends with a shot of Patrick's lifeless body being wheeled out of the auditorium.

Overall, "Patrick" is a harrowing portrait of the dangers of obsessing over physical appearance. The episode is a commentary on our society's increasingly unrealistic beauty standards and the lengths that some people will go to in order to achieve them. Despite its dark subject matter, the episode is infused with Cyanide & Happiness' trademark morbid humor, making it a compelling and thought-provoking watch.
