Cyanide & Happiness Shorts Season 6 Episode 16 The Cup

The Cup is the 16th episode of the 6th season of the animated web comedy series Cyanide & Happiness Shorts.

The episode opens with a man, presumably named Joe, sitting on his couch and feeling thirsty. He decides to go to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. As he opens the cupboard and reaches for a cup, he accidentally knocks down all the cups and they shatter on the floor. Grumbling, Joe decides to go to the store to buy a new set of cups.

At the store, Joe picks out a set of four pink cups. He pays for them and goes back home. As he goes to put the cups in the cupboard, he realizes that one of the cups has a small crack in it. Not wanting to waste time by going back to the store, Joe decides to use the cracked cup anyways.

As Joe takes a sip from the cracked cup, he suddenly hears a voice from the cup. The voice introduces itself as "The Cup" and claims to be a magical cup that can grant wishes. Joe initially doesn't believe the cup and thinks it's just a joke, but then asks for a simple wish to test the cup's powers. To Joe's surprise, his wish is granted.

Excited by the cup's powers, Joe begins to make more and more wishes. However, as time goes on, it becomes clear that the cup's powers are not without consequences. As Joe's wishes become increasingly selfish and greedy, the cup begins to show its dark side.

Meanwhile, Joe's wife who has been out of town, comes back home to find Joe talking to himself in the kitchen, with the pink cup ominously glowing in front of him. At first, she dismisses it as another one of her husband's bizarre antics but becomes alarmed the next day when she finds Joe obsessing over the cup.

As the episode progresses, The Cup's powers escalate in unpredictable ways, creating chaos and destruction in Joe's life. Joe's obsession with the cup leads him to lose his job, friends, and relationship with his wife. By the end of the episode, Joe is left dejected and alone, with the magical cup becoming his only solace.

The Cup is a cautionary tale about the dangers of unfettered greed and the pitfalls of desires that seem too good to be true.
