Cyanide & Happiness Shorts season 7 episode 4, titled "God's Plan", follows the usual format of the animated sketch series created by Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatrick. In this particular episode, the show takes a satirical look at the concept of fate and the idea that there is a greater plan at work in the universe.

The opening scene shows a man named Jack who is about to cross the street. As he steps off the curb, a car comes careening towards him, causing him to freeze in place. Suddenly, he is transported to what appears to be a control room where he meets a man who identifies himself as God. God informs Jack that he was almost hit by the car, but that he intervened at the last moment due to a "snafu" in the greater plan.

We then see a series of flashbacks that show how various events in Jack's life were supposedly orchestrated by God. For instance, God claims that he caused Jack to miss his bus so that he would meet his future wife on the next one. Jack is skeptical of all this, and he questions whether free will even exists if everything is predetermined by a higher power.

The remainder of the episode consists of a conversation between Jack and God as they debate the merits of fate and free will. Jack argues that if God really has a master plan, then everything he does is essentially meaningless, and he might as well just sit around doing nothing. God counters by saying that Jack's actions are still important, even if they are part of a larger plan.

The episode ends with a twist, as Jack realizes that he has been dead the entire time and that he is in fact in a sort of purgatory. God informs him that this was all part of the plan, and that he has passed his test by standing up for free will and rejecting the idea of a predetermined fate.

As with most Cyanide & Happiness shorts, "God's Plan" is a darkly comedic take on a serious topic. The animation is fairly simple, but the characters are expressive enough to convey the humor and sarcasm of the script. The voice acting is solid as well, with both actors playing off each other well during their debate.

Overall, "God's Plan" is a strong episode of this long-running web series. It raises some interesting questions about the nature of fate and free will, and it manages to do so without taking itself too seriously. While the show may not be for everyone, fans of dark humor will likely appreciate the cynical perspective it brings to the table.
