MasterChef Australia Season 3 Episode 22 Offsite Team Challenge

The Offsite Team Challenge episode of MasterChef Australia season 3 sees the remaining contestants divided into two teams to cook for a charity event. The challenge takes place at a beautiful vineyard in the Yarra Valley, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The teams are chosen by captains Alana and Ellie, with Alana leading the Blue team and Ellie the Red team. Both teams are tasked with creating a three-course meal for 120 guests, with each course featuring a different protein. The teams have just four hours to cook and serve the dishes, making it a high-pressure challenge.

The Blue team, consisting of Alana, Billy, Dani, Hayden and Peter, decide to cook a menu that features beef, chicken and fish. Their entrée is a beef carpaccio with watercress and a horseradish cream, followed by a pan-fried chicken breast with pumpkin puree and broccolini. For dessert, they serve a panna cotta with poached quince and ginger biscuit crumb.

The Red team, made up of Ellie, Courtney, Michael, Shannon and Sun, opt for a menu that features pork, lamb and trout. Their entrée is a pig's head terrine with pickled beetroot and a smoked apple puree, followed by a slow-cooked lamb shoulder with a beetroot and ricotta puree and roasted carrots. For dessert, they serve a yuzu and white chocolate mousse with a raspberry coulis and almond crumble.

Both teams encounter some setbacks during the cooking process, with the Blue team struggling with their beef carpaccio and the Red team experiencing issues with their mousse. However, they manage to overcome these obstacles and serve their dishes on time.

The charity event is a huge success, with guests thoroughly impressed with the delicious food and beautiful setting. The judges, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston, taste both teams' dishes and offer their feedback. They are impressed with the level of skill and creativity on display, but ultimately have to decide which team wins the challenge.

In the end, there can only be one winning team, and the judges reveal that the Red team has come out on top. They praise the team for their bold flavours and excellent execution, and Ellie is named the MVP of the day for her leadership skills.

While the Blue team is disappointed with the loss, they remain positive and vow to use the experience as a learning opportunity. They return to the MasterChef kitchen, ready to tackle whatever challenge comes their way next.
