Ep 26. Do Gooders Edition

On this episode of Paid Off With Michael Torpey, it's the Do Gooders Edition! Contestants include a nonprofit employee who wants to pay off her student loans so she can continue to give back to her community, a social worker who hopes to give back to her family after sacrificing for others, and a teacher who wants to pay off her loans and start a scholarship fund for her students.

In round one, contestants are tested on their knowledge of inspirational quotes from famous philanthropists, including Oprah Winfrey and Mother Teresa. Michael Torpey also brings in a surprise guest, philanthropist and Shark Tank star Daymond John, to give the contestants a motivational talk.

In the second round, the contestants are faced with a game of "classify this charity," where they must match up different charities with their respective causes. Things get competitive as the contestants vie for the chance to move on to the final round.

Finally, in the last round, the remaining two contestants are asked to create and pitch their own charity idea to the judges, in hopes of winning the grand prize of having their student debt paid off in full. The judges include Daymond John, along with two other philanthropists.

The pitches range from a charity focused on mental health in the LGBTQ+ community, to a nonprofit aimed at providing mental health resources for underserved populations. The judges deliberate carefully, weighing the potential impact of each idea before ultimately choosing a winner.

As always, Paid Off With Michael Torpey manages to balance humor with heart as these contestants fight for a chance to be debt-free and continue their journey as do-gooders in their communities.
