Robson's Extreme Fishing Challenge season 2 episode 4 takes Robson Green to the tropical paradise of Hawaii, where he will be challenging himself to catch some of the most sought-after fish in the Pacific Ocean. In this episode, Robson will explore the unique fishing techniques and traditions of the Hawaiian people, while also testing his own skills against some of the largest and most elusive fish in the world.
The episode begins with Robson meeting local fisherman and guide, Mike Sakamoto, who will be his guide for the day. They set off on a boat, surrounded by stunning scenery and clear blue waters, to their first fishing spot, where they hope to catch some of the famous Hawaiian bonefish.
Robson soon learns that bonefishing is a challenging and technical art form, requiring patience, accuracy and a good eye. Mike teaches him how to spot the fish in the shallow waters, and how to cast his line without spooking the fish. Robson quickly finds that bonefishing is not for the faint-hearted, as the fish prove to be extremely fast and elusive. Will he be able to catch one of these famous bonefish?
Next, Robson heads to the deep waters around Hawaii, where he has the chance to catch one of the most prized fish in the world - the blue marlin. He joins local fisherman, Capt. Jeff Fay, on his boat, which is specially designed for catching marlin. Robson learns how to rig up the huge bait needed to attract these massive fish, and how to set the lines and reels to give him the best chance of catching one.
As they sail out to sea, Robson takes in the stunning views of Hawaii's coast, which is rich with marine life and natural wonders. But as they approach the open ocean, the weather begins to turn, and Robson and the crew are faced with some challenging conditions. Will they be able to catch a blue marlin in these rough waters?
Finally, Robson takes on a uniquely Hawaiian tradition - the art of spearfishing. He meets up with local spearfishing legend, Kimi Werner, who takes him out to one of her favourite spots to try and catch some of the island's most delicious fish, such as the uhu and ono.
Spearfishing is a completely different approach to fishing, requiring stealth, finesse and a set of specialised skills to get anywhere near the fish. Robson learns how to hunt and stalk his prey, and how to make the kill with a single shot. But will he be able to deliver the goods and catch a fish for dinner?
Throughout the episode, Robson is struck by the warm hospitality and generosity of the Hawaiian people, who share their fishing knowledge and traditions with him. He also learns about the unique challenges facing Hawaii's marine ecosystem, and how local communities are working to protect and preserve these precious waters for future generations.
Robson's Extreme Fishing Challenge season 2 episode 4 is a thrilling and adventurous journey into one of the most beautiful and diverse fishing destinations in the world. From the shallow flats to the deep oceans, and from traditional techniques to modern innovations, Robson discovers the incredible variety and richness of Hawaii's fishing culture.
