Ep 2. The Pilot (Not the Pilot)

The Goes Wrong Show season 1 episode 2, "The Pilot (Not the Pilot)", follows the hapless members of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society as they attempt to put on their first TV pilot. The cameraman keeps forgetting to press record, the sound guy's microphone picks up a nearby radio station, and the stage hands accidentally walk into the shot.

Meanwhile, the actors struggle to remember their lines and react to their surroundings. One actor mispronounces their character's name throughout the entire scene, while another forgets their cue and enters the frame 10 seconds too late. The lead actress can't seem to keep a straight face and frequently breaks character to giggle at her costars' mistakes.

As the scene progresses, it becomes clear that the plot is riddled with plot holes and inconsistencies. The characters constantly contradict themselves, and the storyline seems to shift with each passing moment. By the end of the scene, the audience has no idea what's going on.

Despite the chaos, the group continues to barrel on, even when it's clear that everything is falling apart. When one of the actors accidentally knocks over a prop vase and breaks it, they simply incorporate it into the scene and pretend it was intentional. When another actor enters the scene wearing the wrong costume, they make up an impromptu explanation for the wardrobe change.

In the end, the pilot episode is a complete disaster. The group barely manages to finish filming before the equipment breaks down and the set collapses. But despite the countless mistakes and mishaps, the group remains optimistic. They firmly believe that they have what it takes to make it in the entertainment industry, and they're determined to keep trying until they succeed.

"The Pilot (Not the Pilot)" is a hilarious and chaotic romp that will keep audiences laughing from start to finish. With its brilliant blend of physical comedy and witty dialogue, it's an excellent showcase for the talents of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society.
