Ep 4. Cote D'Azur

In Travel Man: 48 Hours in... season 6 episode 4, titled Cote D'Azur, Richard Ayoade travels to the glamorous French Riviera to explore the iconic coastline and indulge in some of the region's luxurious offerings.

As always, Ayoade has only 48 hours to soak up as much of the local culture as possible, and he wastes no time in getting started. First up is a visit to the famous Cannes Film Festival, where he gets a behind-the-scenes look at the event's prestigious history and learns about its impact on the local community.

Next, Ayoade heads to Antibes, a charming coastal town known for its beautiful beaches and glamorous yacht scene. He takes a dip in the crystal-clear waters and indulges in some local cuisine, including a visit to a renowned gelato shop.

But it's not all sunshine and relaxation for Ayoade, as he also takes on the challenge of driving a classic convertible along the winding roads of the region. Along the way, he stops off at a number of picturesque towns and villages, including St. Paul de Vence and Eze, each with their own unique character and attractions.

Of course, no visit to the Cote d'Azur would be complete without exploring the breathtaking art and culture scene, and Ayoade gets his fill at the world-renowned Fondation Maeght gallery. Housing an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, the gallery is a must-visit for any art lover.

Throughout the episode, Ayoade also takes the time to sample some of the region's finest wines and spirits, including a visit to a local perfume factory and a stop-off at a distillery producing some of the finest Absinthe around.
