Zebu, played by Behroze Sabzwari, and his wife, Sajida, played by Saima Noor, are disappointed to find out that their son, Imtiaz, played by Ahsan Khan, cannot attend university due to financial reasons. Imtiaz is heartbroken as he had worked hard to get into university and was looking forward to starting a higher education.
Meanwhile, Meera, played by Urwa Hocane, is shown as a carefree, young girl who is excited about her upcoming music performance at the local mela. She is also looking forward to meeting her aunt, who she has never met before.
The audience is introduced to the character of Jameel, played by Farhan Saeed, who is a young man from the city. He visits his village to attend the mela and is attracted to Meera. However, Meera's father, Tajamul, played by Omair Rana, is not happy about Jameel's advances towards his daughter. Tajamul believes that Jameel is from a different world than Meera and their family, and therefore, he is not a suitable match for her.
